Riddle the Sphinx Returns with Their Fourth Release Professional Pretender This Valentine's Day

Eclectic alternative band Riddle the Sphinx returns with their fourth studio album, Professional Pretender, set for worldwide release on February 14^th, 2012. The album consists of a combination of inspiring love songs and empowering "break-up songs," embracing the complexities of the human heart, with the title track "Professional Pretender" as the anticipated first single. 

Riddle the Sphinx is an accomplished group of seasoned and formally trained musicians, inspired by a combination of world and classical music. Their sound has been compared to the likes of Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan, with an evolutionary vibe. Their music has the same rich texture as a major motion picture soundtrack. 

The band members, whose core group consists of Christiane Kinney (vocals, piano), Burgundy Morgan (bass) and Christo Pellani (world percussion), bring an immense array of culture to their innovative sound, having earned accolades from the press including the NoHo Arts District Music Column labeling them, "one of the most unique bands in Los Angeles." All Access Magazine says, they "enchanted my socks off." 

Riddle the Sphinx's previous works include their debut album The Fallen Ones, their sophomore release Fun House (2006), Christiane's solo Celtic album Metamorphosis (2007), and the band's upcoming February 14^th release, Professional Pretender (2012). Much of the band's innovative style is credited to its front woman, Christiane Kinney, who was featured in Glamour Magazine's Woman of the Year issue and who has also been honored with awards for her work bringing music and art therapy programs to at-risk children. The band members are passionate humanitarians and philanthropists, and as a natural outgrowth of their love for music they have aligned with organizations such as Project Peace on Earth, founded for the global promotion and attainment of peace through music, and the non-profit organization HeARTS Giving Hope, co-founded by Christiane, dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children through music and art. 

The band's ever present good humor and playful wit is expressed by Christiane Kinney:

The Awards are Pouring In for the Professional Pretender Music Video

We are so excited for our amazing music video director, Sean Kinney, who won three Telly Awards and an Accolade Award for his artistic and unique music video for our song "Professional Pretender."  One of the Telly Awards was a Silver People's Choice Award, so we thank each of you for helping make that happen!!  Love and light ... 

Two Exclusive New Videos to Be Included on the Upcoming Enhanced CD, "Professional Pretender"

RTS Director Sean Kinney has completed two new videos for the upcoming enhanced CD.  The first, an innovative new music video for the title track, "Professional Pretender," was accepted into the 2011 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival (July 20) (winner, Honorable Mention), VegasCineFest Film Festival (Aug. 26-27) (Official Selection), and Burbank International Film Festival (Sept. 15-18) (Official Selection and "Best Music Video" nominee). 

The enhanced CD will also include a 20-minute documentary with RTS and co-producer David Peters, in a rare, intimate interview exploring the band's roots, as well as the making of their upcoming release, "Professional Pretender."
